Default 2000 grand prix GTP 4T65E ATF leaking into L/H inner CV tri_joint

Took apart L/H driveshaft for new CV boots. Inner tri_joint flooded with ATF past metal cup plug in female splined shaft. What is the fix for this? New plug with ATF sealant?

I think you just need a new axle seal.......then make sure level is correct....

Why not just replace the axle?

Axle/ joints are good / boots never ripped. Replacing boots / repacking joints and new shaft seal / lower control arm / stabilizer bar bushings.

You must have plenty of time on your hands. If I need to dis-assemble a $60 axle it gets replaced with new and out the door.

If the inner housing does not pass a leak check after pulling the plug and reinstall with some sealant its getting replaced.

The price of performance is never small. Spare L/H axle it becomes.
