Default 2.2 ecotec timing chain

I have a 2005 sunfire with 2.2 ecotec. The timing chain is very loose. The chain, gears and guides all "look" fine. I thought maybe the tensioner was weak and I replaced it with not much difference. So my question is.. Could the chain be stretched that much? Ive read some posts but never really seen anyone saying that the chain was Stretched.

I seem to remember , a TSB for a chain noise, caused by the oil orifice opening being plugged.....fix was to replaced the chain, sprockets, tensioner, and oil feed orifice opening....
