'04 GP GTP Comp G: ECT... where is it?
The '04 GP GTP Comp G L32 has decided to start kicking out P0128s in the cold weather. Normally, this wouldn't bother me, but of course this car has its emissions check in the middle of winter... and CELs are a no-go.
So, I picked up a thermostat and an ECT, and being fairly familiar with 3800s, I figured I'd have an easy job. Not the case. I see where the thermostat goes, but where I am expecting the ECT to be is a second engine dog-bone, that the L26/L36s don't have. Is the ECT hiding under the dog-bone mount?
Thanks.

OMFG, what was GM thinking when they decided to put that second engine strut in that spot?!?
That has to be the hardest job I've ever done on the topside of a engine in a long time. Even moving most of the engine strut mount out of the way, I barely could get a tool on the ECT.

Fun wasn't it. I changed a thermostat on a F150 and they put a tensioner right in front of it. Couldn't get a wrench on it. When I finally did, I was able to turn it 1/12th of a turn, then reset the wrench.
