Well. It'* going on a year and we have done less than one hour of actual work and or testing. This could end up in then record books.

What grounds have you checked?
None, I have no idea where to look for them.

I'll see what they say.
Did you do this last September? I'm curious what they found.

Someone needs to scan it with a scanner that scans body codes, ABS codes, airbag codes, etc.

I'd look here before looking for grounds.

Yes, the serviceman took it for a ride but, of course, it didn't show any kind of anomaly.

Over the last couple months it became worse that once again I asked him once again what could the problem be, but that guy didn't check anything and just said that it could be central locking system (because of the lights turning off and door locks working while driving).

Regarding the scanner, I was thinking of doing it by myself with GM'* Tech2Win but I have no idea what hardware should I buy for it.
I heard that generic J2534 interface scanners aren't compatible?

I checked the BCM and it appers to be glued before?

I know this car had some rear lights modifications when it was shipped from US to Poland in 2004 to match the EU regulations. I think it involved rear fog light (which has a seperate aftermarket switch above the footwell) and rear turn signals built into the taillights.

You need to scan it one way or another, whether by yourself or by a auto technician. If you think you can get the right stuff to dig into it yourself, that would probably help you in the long run.

I don't see the glue that you are referring to.

I mean there is some tape put there. Looks like someone tried to seal it.

Anyways, today I've spent around an hour looking through the cables in the engine bay and found these two:

This one ends attached to the gearbox, probably mass.

This one is mass coming directly from the battery.

I wiggled the first cable a little when there was short circuit again and it went away.
On friday I'm having another electrician take a look at it, will show him what I found.
