03 grand am hard cold start
Checked for spark this morning when it wouldn't start and I didn't see one. Not really sure where I go from here. Car has new spark plugs and it doesn't look like the wires are that old.
I believe you have two crank sensors.......you need the one in the side of the block for starting(not the one behind the harmonic balancer)......
Also check the harness from the crank sensor to the ICM...have seen a loose harness ground out........could be connection at sensor or ICM....could be the ICM also.....

I wasn't able to check the rest of the harness from the icm to the crank sensor or the sensor itself because I wasn't sure what all had to be removed and haven't had much luck finding what to do online.
Also is there supposed to be any type of grease on the back of the icm that mounts to the steel plate? When I took the icm off there was mainly just dirt.
It has spark, fuel a and the injectors are working. I'm thinking it has too lean of a mixture to start cold. There is probably a problem with a sensor or the motor control circuitry. There are no codes. Before I start replacing parts I'm hoping someone knows what what controls the fuel mixture or what exactly causes this.
