I just bought a GM ZZ454 crate engine from Jegs. After reading the instructions for installation, I see where they specify a melonized gear for the distributor so it is compatible with the roller cam.

Yet I see no mention of a special tipped push rod for the fuel pump.

I'm thinking it should have a special push rod for the fuel pump because my drag car engine has a roller lifter cam and the cam company specified a special push rod for it.

Any knowledgeable comments welcome.

Where would one go to find such answers?

i would call jegs, they might direct you to who ever built the engine but thats what i would do
