Yea, I wouldnt go with anything but K&N because of their flow and re-useability

I spent a few hours fabricating mine and it looks good and works great, I bought my intake from salmanman off of E Bay and it is a stainless 3.5 inch pipe with K&N so it would be a little different for your application, but I used cardboard (as ghetto as it sounds) as the base for the surround which started as a cut up winshield sun protector, and ended up with heat tape on the inside and garage door bottom as the sealer at the top, I also used heat tape on the inside part of pipe that is exposed before the intake TB then I put some more cut up windshiled sun protector and a couple hose clamps to hold it on.....just look at the pictures it came out REALLY well and if you are patient and picky you can do it yourself for less than 40 bucks.
