Default Whats the Better Thermostat?

I'm starting my engine mods and I see everyone on this site has a 180 degree thermostat. I've seen 160 degree thermos and was wondering if they are better??

Unless you plan on going "all out" on the mods I deffinetly wouldn't get the 160. It could throw SES codes and give you horrible mileage. The 180 is the best to use. It won't throw and codes and won't hurt your mileage too much at all. The 160 is used generally for heavily modded engines and strip raceing.

I dont think the 180 effects your mileage at all in a negative way, if anything it should help it. The bonnes are designed to run within like..170-210 degrees or something...

Ya but definetely dont go with the 160. There are tstats sold on the net that are drilled and those are probably slightly better than autozone brand because they constantly are circulating, however slightly.

The 180 is amazing. You'll love it if you get it.

I have the 160 thermostat installed on my car, and haven't had any problems or any SES problems.
