Default What to do with my 94 L67

As I posted, I bought a 94 L67 motor for fairly cheap out of an SSEi. It'* got around 68k on it and I picked it up fairly cheap. I am using it for other purposes right now, but I figured while it was on the stand, I might as well see what things I can do to enhance it mechanically. It will be going into a 93 SSEi and hopefully run by the 93 ECM with the Jet Stage 1 Chip (looks at willwren)

I am wondering, what sort of things should I be looking at doing right now to the motor?

Heads? I have a spare set of 93 heads. Will the 94 Rockers fit on it? I'd rather use those for any modification then swap them out.

Supercharger? Should I port and polish? Will I have to re-do the bearings if I do? what other considerations need to be made?

TB? Port and polish?

Exhaust Manifolds? I am thinking of having these done by a friend. I have an extra set of 93 ones also whick I would have done at the same time.

Anything else I can do myself? How would I go about doing a compression check and how would I check the bearings to make sure they are good?

I have the motor on an engine stand right now so I can turn it over easily.

Also, is there seperate wiring harnesses for the tranny and the engine? Thanks.

well i have done with my motor on a stand so far,

when doing the */C you will need to atleast replace the needle brearings, but it would also be a good time to do the nose drive. having just done mine, i would suggest to anyone that doesnt know much about this sort of thing to BUY on already done, but im sure you can do it Geoff

Maybe work the heads over a bit to since you will be able to dismantel them to work on.

thats all i can think of off the top of my head.

Tell us how far you'd be willing to go.

Would you have the heads ported and polished
different rockers
Etc etc..

Heck..my first thought was...swap it for an S2, that'* a bit unrealistic though.

only restrictions are Series 1 and Cost. Associated cost of items would be helpful, with stuff I can do myself being best.

One thing to check is the coolant ports in the heads. On my original 93, there was a vast amount of casting flash, which would create a hotspot and * slight restriction in coolant flow. I probably could have left well enough alone (and should have had I known the head was warped), but it irked me seeing that and I knocked it out with a dremel.

If the assembly is a 94 it should already have the roller pivot rockers installed. It also *could* have the walled intake manifold that I heard is not the greatest to have when it comes time for P&P. 92&93 L67s do not have those walls in their manis.

EDIT: re-read your post. Yes the 94 rockers will fit on the 93 heads. It was 92 that the heads were different IIRC.

1992 and EARLY 93 have the preferred non-walled LIM. The majority of 93'* have the non-preferred.
