I just put an intake on my 92 Bonnie, cost me around 50 bucks, 30 for the K&N filter, and 20 for the mandrel bend steel pipe. There is definitely an increase in power, but what about the TB screen? Does this really help or would it be unsafe for the engine in some way?

Thanks.

If you keep away from dust and crap. and maintain your air filter it should be fine. When I removed mine the screen had nothing on it so I was guessing that no dust or debris gets that far. I noticed a little bit of a power increase but my service engine light soon light came yesterday so I havent been driving it. need to figure out whats up. The story behind it is...I was racing a 92(ish) bonneville in a nearby town (my town is rivals with this town...football!)and I just left it in od. It kicked down and revved up like normal but WOULDNT SHIFT! it had to have of gone to like 7grand! just then it shifts and that stupid light came on! At least I won but now I have to figure out whats up. It still drives normal too. huh...has me stumped
