Default Walbro Fuel Pump

Anyone installed this?

Question about the wiring when installing the Walbro Fuel pump....

The kit gives a wire to go from the RH I/P Power Dustribution Center to the pump, but the way it'* currently wired up, it goes thru the Fuel Pump Contro Module Feed first, which tells the pump to flow low or high.

Do I bypass the Fuel Pump Control Module Feed, and always run the pump on high, or do I also upgrade the 2nd wire so that the Fuel Pump Control Module still can control high or low flow?

I'm guessing I'd upgrade the 2nd wire to maintain the ability to flow high or low...... but I don't wanna guess on something like that.....

Yea I saw that..... but it doesn't say if you need to bypass the fuel control module or not.

I'm probably off in left field, but if you wired the pump to be high flow all the time, wouldn't you end up pushing extremely high pressures when at idle and more normal pressure at WOT.

Logically thinking about it, I'd want to believe the high and low are needed to help regulate pressure more evenly.

I don't think you'd be extremely high at WOT.... you'd be normal for WOT.... but you would be high for regular driving... which could have ill effects.

I agree with your logic that both high & low pressure is needed.

Is there some reason to think the original pump is insufficient?

I'm making more power than you at the moment, have larger injectors and a much smaller pulley yet my pump is more than adequate.

I did rewire mine to run at 100% duty cycle all the time instead of the 2 speed 33% and 100%, but it ran fine stock. The Yellow wire at the FP Control Module comes from the RH IP where it is fed from a 20A fuse and the FP Relay, this is the high speed circuit.

Cheers,
