i have checked around looking for aftermarket valve covers and found nothing at all. so......... i went to a fab shop here and talked to the guys there, told them my plan and asked for their input. they make valve covers for the local stock car guys. he said that they can make a set of fab alum sheetmetal valve covers. they will use 3/8" alum base and 1/8" sides and top. then when they are done, a machine shop will mill the base so that it is perfectly flat to seal. also the bolt holes will be tubed and need longer bolts to come to the top of the vavle cover. they will also have breather tubes on them too if wanted. im going to get them to make me a set. it will take them about 2-3 weeks to do with their other work they do there. but......... a one off set is $350.
they will also be 1 1/2" taller than our stock ones too, the same valvecover is used on the series 1 and series 2 motors.
anyone interested in a set , maybe we can get them to make a few sets and save some bux per set.
