You guys need to GET OUT of these GM FWD auto transaxles and look into the 6 speed manual. Heck, the CV shafts on them are bigger than on 4T80s. And forget torque management...when I command full throttle I expect the motor to operate at its extreme

but that belief cost me a 4T60

wow, how did this go off into the transmission world. if we r gonna talk about the beefiest transmission, that gm guide tells how to build up a 4t65 beyond what a standard 4t80 or any standard fwd manual trans. as for pricing, its probly cheaper to go the 4t80 or the manual route.

How possible would it be to, and I know this is heresy, put in a Ford Modular 4.6 liter? Compact, modifiable to hell, and relatively plentiful. I don't know of any FWD applications but i bet with enough fortitude it could be done.

That said, it'* Ford and GM mixing...
