You will need more then just headers. I run a 3.3" with zero KR. I'm running 93 octane. have PEMs, and 1.9:1 rockers. I suggest you run no smaller the 3.5" until you get headers or PEMs, then go no smaller the 3.4" Even then you may still see some KR. To go any smaller you will need to do more mods. One thing that will help drop your KR is a street/strip shift kit. I suspect some of that KR is coming from your tranny. The PCM does that to protect it from dammage.

No KR on the shifts here. :?

Even with headers, a cam, and a ported blower a 3.2 pulley was as far as I could push it with 93 oct on a hot day. Danthurs is spot on with the 3.4/3.5 pulley recommendation.

Finally got results from my 4th call to MAP to send my dyno chart. I regret asking for it now.
At least I know I am safe (crossing fingers, knocking on wood, kissing the blarney stone, and carrying a rabbits foot key chain) with my stock 3.8" installed. Have the PEM'* here to install as well as a 3.5" MPS ordered from www.smoothflowpulleys.com and a fine tuning ready to go down with Chris Kemp at the dyno again this Friday.

Is it pulling a little lean, or is that about right?

That looks really lean... You're correct as hell I'd be scared to run it like that.
