Yup, 4th gear shaft. Take a look in my thread for pics of what it can look like before it goes. The splines get brutal.

You don't supposed this happened because every time we talked I heard spinning tires?

Bummer deal Hans. I went through Twin Falls yesterday too. Well, good luck with your decision.

So is this the same transmission that is sitting in my back yard? it came from Ben'* car.
I can rebuild it for you Hans and have it shipped up to you.

Then you can show Bob and i some good ole hospality this summer because I am planning on returning from Oregon with Bob this summer.

What do you think?

I guess the key is you need someone to help with the swap.
I think you can get a basic trans rebuild for less then $200.00 in parts.
If you broke the 4th clutch shaft, that'* like $80.00.. wait.. duh, that'* the point of using a trans that is fairly good to start with. What was the problem with Ben'*?

Later,

Not the same. Ben'* is a 4T60E. Hans needs a 4T65E(HD) for the 2k SSEi. Same trans you have in your GTP, Thomas.

I would park it and start skrimping and saving. The way you drive, I think the INTENSE unit would be a good investment. They're selling them as an entire unit again, so you don't have to do anything on your end but get it bolted in, and ship the old one back to them for core. I actually saved about $200 on the INTENSE rebuild over what the dealer wanted for a factory-parts rebuild.

Nope I bought the car with the problem, the seller complained of crappy gas miliage, I was thinking a tuneup would fix it...turns out it was not going into OD..
