You can buy a trans pan with a drain plug in it already. Hell, you can buy higher capacity pans, too.

As far as Rogue'* comments above, I agree with it in principal, but there are two different kinds of flushes. One IS a high pressure flush where the machine provides the power, but I choose the type of flush that my own pump does the work. It'* not high pressure. My fluid goes out to the machine while the car is running, and it pushes up a cylinder. In the top half of the cylinder is fresh fluid. Think of it as a blood transfusion, but your own hear is providing the pressure.

My car had it'* original fluid when I bought it at 65,000 miles. I did a flush per year with no problems. In fact, the first one fixed a mild TC slip problem. No problems came back until I thrashed my trans with two much power for 2 years. When it started to go, 2 flushes extended it'* life. I ended up with 111,000 miles on the most abused 4T60 you'll find on this forum. My differential case is now BROKEN. But look how far it made it

As to the thread issue, already had that covered, if... I have access to an arcwelder. Weld the right size nut to the interior of the pan and I woulda been set.

But since the advice so far is "No", then I guess I'll have to find other metal to play with...

and willwren - i completely agree with you on the flush via your pump. and i can't honestly see *any* possible danger in doing a flush that way... it'* pretty seamless to process for your transmission...

Alright i think im gonna go with a pan drop. If the pan is pretty clean i will consider doing a flush. No the question is. How do i get the rest of the fluid out of the tourqe converter and tranny? Is it a do it yourselfer or do i need a machine?

If you want more than the 7 quarts the pan drop will get you, do a flush. It'* the only way.

Bill: Where can I find one of these higher capacity pans? Can I get one of those with the cooling fins.. to aid in better cooling too? how big can I go, anyways? Is it like exhaust diameters.. bigger isn't always better and such?
