is it a good idea to do this and what things did you run in to. should i use a fan assested or noassested cooler :?

You don't really need a fan assisted one. Usually one that is a quarter of the size of you radiator will be good. Stuff you might run into is being supplied with the wrong size fittings. either make sure they fit before you install it or get adaptors. The adapters are a big pain in the a$$ though. The easiest way to tap into the lines is where it goes into the top passenger side of the radiator.
