Default TOG'* over SLP headers

TOG'* are $749.99 and include EVERYTHING, and are guaranteed to fit the Bonneville

the SLP'* are $699.99 and require you to purchase an $89.99 installation kit, totalling $789.98

so, why are most people running SLP'* if they are $40 more?

The SLPs are readily available. I ordered a set of TOGs 2 weeks ago and I may have to wait up to another month till I get them

SLP = Slip fit crossover

I didn't know at the time there was going to be such a wait. A matter a fact a sales rep called my house @ 8:30pm Sunday night once he got a angry e-mail (10mins after I sent the e-mail) from me asking for info on my headers. I still don't mind too much I have heard the quality of the TOGs is much better then the SLPs so I guess that was the main reason behind my decision.

Some good info as to making a choice is also over here.

Then Black94SSEi recently had a thread as well. Lots of good info there too.

Seems like if you are willing to wait, Togs seem nice. The SLP'* I got were a dream to install.

One reason to Get the TOGs over the SLPs is the flex section. Many complain of the ticking. My flex section never gave me any problems and it survived my crash. (engine was pushed back 1/2')
And with TOGs you don't have to worry about fabbing or welding anything to retain the stock shock mount. Not everybody is capable of doing that on their own or wants to go out and have it done.
I had almost no problems installing my TOGs. I just had to cut a little material off the front mount and get another O2 bung welded in for next to nothing. And as I also said in the other thread, It seems that the later years don't have any issues with clearance of the O2.

Honestly Mike...I don't see a single thing were we couldn't sit here all day and argue which is better or worse in certain little areas. However we are talking from the 92-99 body.

Slip fit has less of an edge to create resistance, Togs have a gasketed sealing area.
2000 doesn't have a motor mount interference issue TMK
Ticking is nothing
2000 TMK doesn't have the PS lines or heat shield nub to on.
