I don't think one is better then the other.. Aside from the fact brass is worth 2-3 times what aluminium is

But aluminum'* lighter...that'* gotta be what, 1 or 1.5 grams shaved off

But seriously, I'll bet that "wedge" plate design is supposed to cut down on intake whistling noise.

Andrew...do you know if the MAF table needs to be adjusted? I'd assume it should be.

He'll definitely need a new MAF table...I think for now Don'* planning to put this TB on and scan for KR and LTFT'* with his Aeroforce; I'll be curious to see how that turns out.

I did similar on my riviera. I have to admit I am going back to my old TB. I am not convinced the PCM will compensate for going from a 98 maf to a 99+ maf and TB.

I would.

In looking at tuning lately and noticing how the various maf tables are different, it makes sense that the idle is probably the pcm hunting around. Give it time to learn.

However from a PCM knowing how much air from the MAF sensor will be skewed and your LTFT and STFT'* will be needed to compensate. I know for a fact that the shaved shaft TB in my case was causing serious fuel trims. I'd assume the missing shaft one would as well. Although I do not know positively how much air the MAF is reading vs the stock MAF. That is my reasoning behind asking Andrew. I believe he'* got both tables on hand.
