POWDERED rods. Think of them as tiny bits of metal re-joined. And find me an L67 that broke a rod.

Willwren that is what I'm saying. their is a a stock L67 short block running mid 9'*. I don't think anyone ever on BC is going to throw enough power down to say that they need different rods. Their is no reason you are going to need stronger rods with stock pistons.

I agree completely. And it'* far more practical to do a GenV swap onto a S2 L67 than it would be to swap a complete (much more expensive) S3 into the car.

FWIW, the Series III rods are actually weaker than the Series II.

Personally, I'd leave the engine in the '99 and put a Gen V on it. No reason to swap in a Series III because they really aren't much better.

how so?
Read up on it on club gp. I don't know the details behind it but I remember everyone using them in their builds when the Series III'* first came out, however not long after it was discovered that they were weaked and now they aren't used as often. There should be numerous topics on there that talk about it.
