It'* a FWD. It uses the same tranny as the Caddy STS.

How do these blown Pontiacs stand up to the STS by the way? I'm sure the Caddy is heavier but with 300 ponies who knows. Anybody seen for themselves?

Default weird

Why wouldnt they use the proven 4.6L northstar instead of remaking a 4.4...
they have been using the 4.6L sence 92-93... different body style oh and it has a cadillac emblem on the front... and there worth 1-2kcan* more used
92ssei - 92 STS is about a 2k difference..

Default GXP

The Bonneville GXP is front wheel drive. My understanding is its a current Bonneville with the drive train from the current Cadillac STS (Northstar 4.6L DOHC V8 and 4T80E with 3.7 grears). Plus upgraded suspension and brakes.

Thanks,
Anthony

I actually heard that the engine will be the 4.6 Northstar but instead of DOHC, it'll be QOHC.

First, the GXP is using the 4.6L Northstar, but it has been destroked to 4.4L and therefore makes less hp, ~285. But, it is the 4.6L motor. What you think they meant by Quad cam motor simply means its a V-8 with DOHC, which is 2 cams per cylinder head, which equates to the motor having a total of 4 cams. Also, it has the awesome new front fascia, with the honeycomb style grille, larger wheels (18in.) and tires, and bad *** brake system. Expect a stock GXP to run a high 14 1/4 mile, depending on what exactly comes out to the showroom floor. Hopefully expect an aftermarket supercharger system to be marketed within a year of its debut to the public.
