maybe shot-peened? that'* about all i can think of that would be close to 'dimpled'

Only thing I can find having to do with rods and "dimples" is shot-peening. I never really thought of this comming from the factory though.

I wouldn't be too suprised if the rods were shot peened from the factory. i know on the tranny i spend most of my time around, the output shaft for certain models is sent out to be shot peened, so i can't think of why an engine plant wouldn't do the same for a boosted application.
