Mr Wren: Just wanted to let you know that I've been following this thread since day one and I'm amazed at your work. Great ideas and even greater execution. Overall very interesting and to some degree entertaining

I read up on your other projects too (wrinkle paint, hood vents, repainting the hood with the pontiac arrow, underhood firemat painting, etc) and am equally impressed. Almost makes me want to pick up an SSEI and NOT dump the motor in one of my T Types...

If I lived closer to you, I'd buy you a beer

Part of the sound is due to a minor issue with my Magnaflow resonator. When I find the time to get down to Jerry'*, it'll be a warranty replacement. He wants it on the rack before he orders it though, so he can give a clear picture of the issue to Magnaflow.

More good news. I just did my first oil change since the motor swap and the top end teardown I did afterwards. It was dark as I expected, since I've been running Seafoam in there for a couple hundred miles to clean things out. I did a 'drag wipe' with a hard drive magnet towards the drain for several minutes from all directions first. Drained the oil and found a TINY amount of particles on the magnetic end of it, then strained my oil through a paint strainer and coffee filter.

Came out perfect. No lumps, chunks, shavings, or anything else. The tiny amount of stuff on the drain plug are to be expected with the new valvetrain parts breaking in.

Finally had a fairly 'warm' day to do some further testing.

60 degrees F today on the way home. while idling or cruising, the temp difference between the IAT and the post-IC sensor was a steady 15 degrees F. After boost spikes, it took about 30-45 seconds to come back down to 85 post-IC.

This is encouraging, as all my other data looked the same in 40 degree temps. Looking forward to some 70-80 degree days.
