Resistors and ebay chips

Whats up with those resistors and chips that are sold on ebay? Are they a big scam, because they look like it. Just wondering

Ohhhhhh yea. They fool sensors in the car and do all sorts of stupid stuff. Don't bother.....big waste of $$$

Your PCM is smarter than a resistor. For a day at the track, it might work, but otherwise it'* a big no.
