And this will be first time I have EVER posted this on ANY forum. So take it or leave it. As I will edit this info out soon.

What the PCM is looking for to "read " the solenoid is a letter/number in the vin.

For example.
Vin K=N/A
Vin 1= boost

The PCM is looking for a 1 in the vin. However this doesn't always work so cut and dry. Sometimes you need to find/create a vin to make the PCM happy, or read the BCS.

Some will call BS, -and OH WELL! It has worked on many cars. But most will agree the vin plays more of a tuning factor than we realize.
Edit what out?

I didn't argue with you on the PCM point. I'm arguing with you on operating the BCS in bypass or swapping DP'*. For the record, we have a perfectly fine swapped L67 in a 2000 SLE on this Forum that had no issues.

I'm glad the 2000 went well, and some are perfect. The PCM setup is the biggest factor in most swaps.

As far as the bypass idea in theory your turning it into more of a BOV setup. Since its vaccuum controlled. And beleive it or not works quite well, with little to no adverse effects. If it isn't setup correctly-then very bad things can happen-like making a call to Ed Morad (not that thats a bad thing :P ).

And its pointless to edit my previous post since you quoted me

However the thread starter needs to find someone with a PT/HPT close by to do the PCM work and scan/tune the car. It gets quite costly very quick sending a PCM back/forth. Try the vin tweaking..that should do it.

i do have a pcm reprogrammed from intense. it is a se pcm programmed for a ssei. but that doesn't matter now. this morning my bonne died on me

(whats it doin?)
it starts, turns over, runs for like 2-5 seconds then dies. cranks right back up and does the same thing over again. i let it sit for a bit and it started up and ran for 10 seconds and then died again.

(what have i done?)
i replaced the fuel filter, and coil packs. checked the TPC. it was good. i heard the fuel pump kick on evertime i turned the key to the on position.

Agreed. We need to know what the PCM is trying to tell you.

He may have the Intense PCM....but I am sure he is still running the L36 wiring harness, meaning he does not have the capability to govern his boost (unless he hard wires the connections in).

Surely he swapped the harness, too... :?
