Second... Yes thats the difference I saw with my PLIM.... I was surprised to see how easily the car would pull to 5950 on the 1-2 shift... My Trans is still very tired tho.. I don't get the liberty of seeing the speedo move that fast anymore...LMAO...

And I also seem to have improved in Fuel economy.. 21 is the norm in town... And 32 is the norm on the interstate if I can keep my foot off the floor
Yep, yep...Steely Dan. Lot of favorites from various artists on that CD.

Ought to swap in a fresh trans sometime. Maybe at the next SEBF, I might try to make it this year to meet up with a few fellow 3800 enthusiasts. Not too many members immediately around where I live in Alabama, I don't believe.

A trans is definitely NOT a meet mod. You need to plan on that one on your own.

Never done one, didn't know. Would still be interested in attending the next SEBF regardless, though.

Yeah I don't think we will do much for deep mods... I have my hands so full right now its just nuts... Between trying to get the HD Trans into my 95 TS, and then now being certain of impending failure on the 95... I need to get this van going soon.. The Trans on my 95 is pissing off second gear... Kinda funny but not funny to see the Tach at 4k but the speedo is barely gaining speed...LMAO Its all due to the New found power from the PLIM

I think you have another 40-50K at least before you need a new trans... Mine is right at 170K... I think I need to give the adjustable modulator one more turn

So after the time your car has had to learn the PLIM, would you say the results are well worth it in all driving situations?
Good to know my trans is good for a while longer, I'm trying to keep it going especially since my truck is dead...gonna have to see if I can get it running again at the end of the week though. I meant that a fresh trans should be swapped in your 95 though, but as you say, the Transport seems to be keeping you pretty busy. Neat van by the way.

Definitely worth it. The car keeps up or exceeds traffic sooo much easier now. People tend to have lead feet here (college town). I used to have to keep the tach pegged at 3k or thereabouts just to get the car pulling good, now I can get the same feeling at around 2600 or so.

Full throttle passing on a two lane road in second gear is just...

Definitely the best thing I've ever done to my car. Only thing that comes close is the exhaust, and that'* just because I enjoy the rumble. not because it gained me anything like the PLIM did.

I'm curious to know if the Intense FWI will make a noticeable difference...every now and then I feel like there'* still a restriction somewhere. I'll get to know very soon, it arrives this afternoon.

Ported manifolds...maybe my next mod! At least the front, not sure about the rear. A little tricky to get to.

Intake is in.

Size difference.

At first I was thoroughly convinced that it had killed my low end torque...and I think maybe at first it did...but the PCM has seemed to have adjusted to it over time and it pulls nice and strong down low again.

Top end and midrange power are both improved. It also seems to rev more easily now, and that "restriction" I mentioned is gone.

It'* also very loud! I hear a lot of hissing and whistling going on up there. My old one used to whistle and hiss every now and then but this one does it a lot more...proof of better flow I suppose.
