I liked the Intense Intake but will that work better with the filter just sitting in the front like that with no box or anything the thrasher comes with a box. I dont mean to sound like an idiot but me and these new cars dont quite understand eachother
1). Plugs: mostly personal preference.

2). Wires: Most of us use Belden Premiums from NAPA. They are lifetime guaranteed.

3). Yes go with a 180*. Our cars are prone to UIM and LIM gasket failures. The 180* stat won't cure the problem but it will help.

4). The Intense FWI: the air filter actually goes inside the fenderwell you run the hose through the hole inside the fenderwell and the filter goes inside. It is completley protected from the elements. Our model yrs. 00+ can really take advantage of that space the 99- crowd can't make as good of use with it.

Hey don't worry about sounding like an idiot...You don't. Everyone has to start somewhere. We all have to crawl before we walk.

One other thing if you are still running Dex-cool you may look into getting it switched over to the Prestone. I am running a 180* stat and had mine switched over to the prestone, and It seems to de doing better.

Just some food for thought.

Happy Modding,

Tim

I haven't used the 180* stat, but all their other products are top shelf.

I'd say you will be happy.

Are you planning on getting a pcm from them also??

It'll work just as well as a 180 Stant thermostat from Napa.

You don't NEED an Intense PCM. It'* just another performance option. The 180* 'stat should be just fine and shouldn't give you troubles, from our experience. I believe that'* still true for the '03s.

Also, it seems as if the FWI CAI option works about best for your year. There'* more than one kit available and it can also be hand made if you have some ability.

Have you done a search here yet on "CAI" and or "FWI"? Lots to read and think about.

Other than that, it sounds like you are on the right track.
