Default Planning for the future: SSEi help!

Next summer, I want to buy an SSEi with and L67 and 4T65e trans. I am going to all different sites to plan out what kind of mods I will be getting. I'm planning on initially throwing in about 1000 USD in mods starting out.

My question is, I want some nice bolt ons, while having the ability to upgrade in the future, without sacrificing any parts.

So...

If I put on a set of 1.9:1 rockers, 3.4" pulley, CAI as a starter, and in the future I want to put on a cam. Is there a cam on the market that will allow 1.9 rockers, or will I have to upgrade to a different ratio. I know I'll be fine with everything else, but I know that some cams require larger heads such, so will I need to use differnet rockers and maybe port out the heads?

If you plan on doing a cam in the future like you say you are, then don't do rockers. There are currently no cams that are intended to be used with 1.9 rockers. I am sure you could use 1.9 rockers with some cams with the appropriate head work, but it wouldn't be beneficial. I would recommend a CAI, ZZP Modular Pulley System w/3.4" Pulley, AC-Delco 41-932 Spark Plugs, MSD Wires, 160 or 180 degree thermostat, shift kit, and then save the remaining money for a cam swap later. You will need to spend ~$1000 US for a cam swap, so save all the money you cam. Then do a cam, and get headers, and a custom PCM and you should have a nice setup. Then you can do ported heads or an intercooler and mods like that as you please. That is what I would do in your situation.

I didn't realize a cam swap will cost so much.

So basically, if I do a cam, I will be reworking the whole valvetrain and heads?

yes, better to go with the headers to start and pulley, the rockers wont match the cam and there is a lot involved in going that route. You can go inter cooler before the cam and well worth it my opionion, combined with a smaller pulley 2.7"?

No, I'm not interested in nitrous.

I'll probably do this:

180 Thermo
Trans Cooler
CAI
3.4" Pulley w/ belt
Plugs and wires
1.9 Rockers
(Possibly upgrade the trans)
Headers
Ported heads
Larger throttle body

and if I wanna go faster:

Intercooler w/ smaller pulley
Stage 4 M90
LSD

I'm thinking I'll stay with the stock cam.

Cool thanks.

Will the rockers cause any problems. I know they can really let more air come in at high RPMs. Do you think its a good way to go?

I think the rockers are a good alternative to the cam upgrade, easier to do and doesnt throw any codes. You wont get the performance of a cam though but you will be able to run a bit more boost, say 3.2" with headers and cai?
The intercooler will allow you to run a much smaller pully
