non sc engine swap to a sc car
I hear you. Just want to make sure you don't get screwed over. I've had people buy motors from junkyards without knowing the mileage and have them put them in the car only to find out that its broken in some way. Sometimes the place of purchase is less than willing to take it back, and you would have already wasted the time to put that engine in the car. I would definitely try to get some kind of warranty or guarantee that it runs.
You cannot use an L27 and bolt on a supercharger. It has been tried, and failed. Your bottom end will fail, guaranteed. Both the rods and the pistons on the supercharged model are stronger than on the non-supercharged one. You *might* get 50k miles out of it if you drive it easy, but at that point, what'* the point of having a supercharger anyway.
A non supercharged series 1 (L27) will take abuse for 200k+ miles. I would know, I have 214k miles on mine, and just recently replaced my cylinder heads because I burned a valve while hitting 4800rpm for 5 minutes straight up a colorado mountain with a heavy load in my car. Oops...

i did get the 93 bonneville engine, looks like ill need to swap the superchargers since it looks smaller to me, i got a 60day warranty for the engine. now i just hope the intake and super charger from my 94 are interchangable with the 93.. thanks for all the info
