Default New ricerpipe/K&N MPG report

Made 25.8 MPG on the first 350 miles since rice pipe/K&N install on 50/50 mix of town/highway driving and of course I had to plant my foot a few times to see how it was going to run. Similar driving conditions before install was coming out about 22-22.5 MPG. I still need to build a box and clean my TB so I hope it improves even more.

Mine sucked in a small child and plugged up my IAC passage. But when I got it cleaned out, I did gain about 2mpg on the freeway.

so, some people report losses, and some report gains. do those that report losses have trouble keeping out of this new found power, or does it actually hurt?

well, for me, the engine sounds incredible when I get on it.. so It'* kind of addicting. I'm sure I'd get better mileage if I could manage to keep my foot off the gas.

that would be the problem, staying out of the throttle, but if your like me, and always in the throttle, then driving style would not change, hence mileage would increase..I hope.

Car had a Bosch O2 sensor installed when I bought it.

Replaced it with a new Delco about 3,000 miles ago.
