If they replaced the solenoid, You shouldn't get another fault, once you clear the code. You need to reset the fault first, and wait and see. Just replacing a bad part doesn't automatically reverse a code once thrown. So I wouldn't assume it wasn't replaced or that you got a bad one.

sorry about the late reply and thanks for all the help, so far i havent had the problem, i change my coolent temp sensor and that seemed to be the problem, the car runs great now so i think it was something to do with that sensor, which doesn't quite make sense but like i said it seems to do the trick!

the question is this, is your tcc really stuck on? does the car chuggle at low speeds in 3rd gear? are the 1-2, 2-3, and 3-4 shifts harsh and jerky? does the engine rev up when you accelerate easy (without a downshift) or is it locked like a manual transmission.

Easy test, put the car in manual 3, accelerate on the highway to about 50mph. Hold the speed steady for about 15 sec, then while watching the tachometer, lightly tap the brake pedal and release it. The engine rpm should rise about 200-300 momentarily when you tap the brakes, then drop back down to where it was before you tapped the brakes. If it does not rev, the converter clutch is engaged, stuck on.

The pcm tells the solenoid to energize or deenergize, which will engage or disengage the torque converter clutch. It is not necessarily the fault of the solenoid. nor is it the fault of the trans rebuilder. I will never rebuild a transmission on the bench without the benefit of diagnosing it in the car myself. You should have taken the car in and had it properly diagnosed instead of automatically pulling it out and assuming it needed to be rebuilt. It seems the rebuild did nothing for your problem. Solenoids are NOT part of a standard rebuild. It is NOT possible to bench test them other than they switch on/off. Great, exept how does one act under load? Not possible to test on the bench. Also, the valve body is very rarely the problem, it is most likely a broken wire at the trans plug or harness issue in the trans. The PCMs are also bad to cause this problem. A bad ISS or OSS can cause the pcm to think the tcc is stuck on, too.

Proper diagnosis is crucial in transmission repair. Whatever $$$ you saved pulling it out yourself will quickly be lost when you pay someone to diagnose it correctly this time around.

oops, missed page 3. I see you fixed it? I don;t see how a bad CTS would cause this, though. Hmmmm.....
