Default Code P0742

After about 3 days of not driving my car I had to go about 5 miles today to do some work. I was driving up a moderate hill gently and @ 42mph the TC locked up. This is strange because it never locks up until the tranny is worm. I pull up to the stop light and my SES lights up. When I take off first gear is normal but when it shifted into second the revs dropped to 1000 and between 25 and 55mph it "shifted" 6 times never once going above 1500rpm. Surprizingly, the car accelerated fine this way probably due to the L67s low end torque I felt like I was driving a diesel.

My question is has any of your torque converters stuck on like the in cold weather?

If you have a scantool, you can try the procedure here to narrow things down. P0742
This is a TSB regarding the code that may apply, even though your car isn't specifically listed. For sticking solenoids, I've found that often a can of Sea Foam'* Trans Tune will free things up, at least temporarily.
