My L36 LIM Porting (with pics)...NOW WITH DATA!
One knock sensor will yield about a gallon, the other will dump what appears to be about 2 more gallons.
Personally, since you will probably have gasket material around, I start the car..idle for a few minutes and then change the oil and filter.

Can you make a quick list of parts/fluids i would need to do this with some prices. I am debating if i want to do the LIM and HV3, or soomething else. Roughly how much do you have in this project?

The HV3 alone is what, about $190? That'* why I'm trying to do a "poor-man'*" version
All the rest of this stuff I was going to do anyway, just as maintenance; you don't necessarily need all this stuff to do the job:
Bill Buttermore shielded EGR tube ($20), thermostat, gasket and seal ($10), UIM/TB gasket set ($35), aluminum LIM gasket set ($50), bypass elbow ($4) fuel injector o-ring set ($15), PCV valve ($3), spark plugs ($10), 2 gallons of coolant ($20), valve cover gaskets ($25), valve cover grommets ($10), oil pan baffle/gasket ($30), 5qts synthetic oil ($30), oil filter ($3), ultra copper RTV ($
I'm sure I left something off that list...
You understand the risk.
There'* this weird place called ZillaMotorsports. They've had this idea for a year or more. And they're in the process of proving the idea.
So you'd be better off waiting for about 3 weeks for confirmation. ZM L36 LIM #1 worked great. Let'* wait for #2 before diving into it. Too many people have butchered good parts by being impatient.

Well, reamed out my first port:

After:

Here'* an impression I made of the reamed port with bake-in-the-oven clay, to help me make sure I do them all the same:

Finally finished the LIM ports. I figure it took me about 30 minutes per port using my Dremel:

I did very little in the way of polishing the runners, because I'm a larda$$.
I hope this picture conveys that I left a "lip" around each port relative to the gasket hole:

After my DHP PowrTuner shows up (and I learn how to use it), I expect to get some before-and-after data to quantify what this ported LIM does for my otherwise near-stock 1998 LeSabre. With all the travelling I may have to do soon, all that'll probably be 6 to 8 weeks away.
