Well when its all done, assuming all goes well, that will be one fast ass bonny!

BillBoost37 02-17-2006 07:41 AM

Morty..

Brakes: DO THEM FIRST! Don't ask a single question, suspension and stopping come first. And limiter has absolutely no bearing on how fast you can get from 0-60. Therefore I could care less about when or if you remove a limiter when talking brakes. I don't trust your driving under 60mph (which for you is normal driving in the city). Your neighbor wasn't moving over 30 when he plowed that car. The tires may have been..but the momentum and velocity weren't present. (No, a parachute will not suffice)

LSD will not cause you to turn tighter or have torque steer. Please research further.

Pulley..you could do this today and be very happy with the added power.

Fuel Pump: You asked if it was good. I told you it didn't have any trouble to 108mph. However that Don and Bill both felt 30-35 was low and should be replaced. However...the car runs fine and drives. At no point did I suggest it was ready for anything more than you would expect from a pump with over 150K miles and 11 years of supplying the engine.

If you are interested in what order things should be done...ask. Many here have done multiple mods and found the error of misordering things.

1. Brakes/Suspension.. Never think otherwise
2. Fuel supply
3. Transmission and Engine pulled (if the cradle gets dropped or motor gets pulled..do it at one time.
4.. Hmmm you just did the cam, heads and intake including porting in step 3

Torque steer is caused by unequal lengths of the drive axles due to engine bay constraints and position of the transaxle with respect to the frame.

An LSD may SLIGHTLY reduce the effect, but only by a TINY amount. It's a Myth that an LSD is the solution for torque steer in a FWD. You can't fix torque steer without changing the frame width of the car. ;)

If that's your reason for wanting an LSD, ditch it from the list.

Boostyboy,

Thanks man. I appreciate the comments without just telling me it can't be done, or that my car is gonna blow up or some other nonsense.

I'll do the brakes and pulley first (in that order). While I'm taking care of the brakes I can figure out WTH is going on with my passenger side suspsension :P.

BillBoost37 02-17-2006 10:37 AM

Morty..please stop quoting everything I write..it makes for an unnecessarily long post. Plus...some people want to simply skip my long winded posts. ;)

Pulley whenever you want...my concerns are controlling the monster you are trying to build.

I agree with ya Nate

singscountry1967 02-17-2006 01:05 PM

I'm just totally impressed that a few months ago, this is the same guy that had never done an oil change....BC has created another Mod Monster. :greenbounce:

Mortehl 02-17-2006 01:53 PM

Nate thanks for your perspective... BTW The PCM is the very last thing I'm doing. Willwren spoke with the tuners and I have a basic ok from him when the time is right as long as they use the right bin file.

I still intend on going through with the supercharger work. Its mostly polishing the rough edges on the outlet. I have no intent at all of making things wider as I know the TB plate is the limit annyway. Same thing goes with some minor work on the throttle body.

As for the PEMS, I'm having a pro do it that I reccomend to everyone. www.hulkspeed.com

As for the rockers, I'm talking with Y.T. right now about full roller rockers in stock ratio with stronger springs and going with the cam.

Just a reminder everyone -- This isn't going to be my daily driver. After this winter, I don't expect this car to ever see snow again 8) And I know I'm spending more on the car (transmission alone!!) then the car was purchased for, or is worth. It would be too easy to just go to a S2 car :P Besides, I don't like that soft magnasteer crap.

Tracy: I dunnow what to say.. I'm having a blast doing this :)
