No, because that is WAY high. The highest I have ever heard of with a 3.4 is 227hp and I think 305lb/ft. That dyno basically HAS to be off.

That sounds about right if this is the same guy who has run the 1/4 in 14.0 @ 97 mph.

And yes the the 3.4" pulley will make some awesome power increase over stock. About 30 hp and 50 ft-lbs of torque over stock.
No, that sounds about 25-30hp HIGH of what it should be. That is more than 300 crank horsepower, and over 400lb/ft crank torque. That dyno is definately off. Yeah the pulley gains about 30hp, but that is CRANK HP, not wheel. Stock HP at the wheels should be between 190 and 200, usually around like 192-195, and torque is usually somewhere in the 250 range (GM underrates torque horribly) at the wheels. So then add in the 30hp for the pulley, that would be about 25 wheel hp, assuming all conditions are perfect and the car is getting no kr, and if it was a high horsepower engine to start with and was making 200 @ the wheels, add the maximum of 25 for the pulley, and you are at 225hp @ the wheels, which is 2hp shy of the HIGHEST 3.4 Pulley only dyno I have ever seen.

the pulley is the single best 'feel' mod you can do, but those numbers seem high. You should have started with 240/280 hp/tq.

Do you trust the dyno you were on?
That is what I am saying, I am pretty sure that dyno is off quite a little bit, maybe that car is just a freak, but I highly doubt it is even possible for it to be that much of a freak. I don't think our SSEi would even pull those kind of numbers on the dyno.[/quote]

So why were you such a freakin jerk in the first place? I didn't know a well running car was offensive to you guys. I thought it'd be interesting instead.

Because of the fact that it is VERY unlikely that the car is making that kind of power. With just a 3.4 pulley you shouldn't be pulling close to that much power. 238 is still high, about 13hp higher than it should be, but there is a chance, a very small one but a chance nonetheless, that it is making the 238hp. You have to realize that another 12 wheel hp added to that is a BIG difference (about 15 crank hp), and although it may not sound like much it is a lot, and with it being 25 wheel horsepower higher than it should be, it seems like there is something wrong, or everything is exactly right on that engine, because 25 wheel is over 30 crank hp, and that is the same gain you get from putting on a 3.4 pulley, so the number is saying that your car is making power as if you put on 2 3.4 pullies (if that were possible). And you know what the gain of a 3.4 pulley is, so imagine that double, that is how high that dyno number is. As I said, if I were you, I would get that car re-dynoed. But if the car just happens to be a freak and is pushing that kind of power, it would explain your freakish 1/4 mile times somewhat.

1st warning gents...keep it above the waist

I'm getting tired of battles and bitchin about HP levels. If you can prove itthen prove the damn thing....Fine..otherwise, the bitching goes back and forth.
