THe LS7 is already 500+ HP sure, and with cam swaps and headers you're nearing 600, but it'* a $15k engine. If you were dropping one in a camaro and using the dry sump oiling, it might be worth it, but you'd have to spend more to rig up mounts, and probably a tranny bellhousing. Nevermind the $4k you'd NEED to spend on the transmission, which would still be susceptible to breakage.

It'* an AMAZING engine, but not really feasable in our chassis. It deserves a better car IMO too... It'* like buying a $10,000 desk to go in your trailer home.

What about a Ford Modular 5.4L DOHC which is in the 2000 Cobra SVT R and the new Ford GT'*. My buddy says he can get one and they're fairly cheap ($4500). They come with 300HP and are extremely durable and made of iron.

Modded 350 HP from a 3800 is MUCH less reliable then any stock Mod motor.

There'* no feasable way to put any ford engine in our cars. Whats the point? Get a mustang and do it, it' be more enjoyable at the end of the day.

Truth is, there'* lots that CAN be done and people that will choose to do something just because they can, not necessarily because it makes sense in any way. Just go to any rod show and you'll see something that is a WOW!, but makes you scratch your head and ask why?

So the answer is yes. Throw enough money at it and it can be done. If your answer to the "why" question is; "just because I can" or "Money isn't the object, uniqueness is", then you maybe should do it. Trust me, do it and people will be amazed.

h0ckey4: i could strap supercharger to the LS7
xsC: not quite
xsC: you'll blow it up
xsC: and on top of it, you won't get much of a gain
xsC: since you'll need to find someway to de-tune it and then blow it
xsC: compression ratio is too high for the ls7
xsC: and it has thin sidewalls for the cylinders
h0ckey4: how would a supercharger blow it up?
xsC: too much pressure for the cylinders to handle

Truth or fiction?

Well seriously, I'm not even thinking of touching a Mustang or a Corvette or any other cars. The reason I'm asking is because this is the Bonneville forums. Therefore I would like to mod my bonneville, whatever I get I get.

The LS7 comes with 500HP, the 5.4L Modular comes with 300HP. I mean I guess my question is which one is capable of producing more horsepower when it'* maxed out. My friend seems to think that the 5.4L Modular produces 1500HP and he showed me links. Joe'* Ford GT with the 5.4L Modular produces 1050HP although Ford GT'* come with 505HP in the 5.4L modular. The LS7 with twin turbo produces 800HP. Which one would produce more power?
