Default Making a heat shield for the K&N cone

I was wondering if anyone has any tips on the best way to go about this, or better yet have any pics of theirs? Should I just make a divider between the cone and the rad/engine, or also extend it and go all the way behind the cone as well. Or even go as far as to box it off so that it'* only getting air from behind the headlight? Will I notice any gain by doing any of the above? Thanks!

I want to do this too once I get my intake. I've seen some pics of ppl'* custom boxes. Pretty innovative.

I just want a professional look that doesn't look too homemade (not that anyone'* looks bad) I'm slightly a perfectionist

i think jeffreyx10 has a nice one, if you wanted a professional look you could get some sort of plastic or sheetmetal to cover the shiny insulation and then paint the metal/plastic to match the engine/car.
