Is there a heat shield over the muffler on my 92 SE? Something rattles pretty badly in the back on accelerating and I haven't had the chance to crawl under the car to look at things. Would anything be adversly affected if I just pulled the heat shield out?

I've noticed the same sort of rattle on my 93 SSE. I suspect the heat shield on the cat. I'm reluctant to remove it, seeing as how catalytic converters get EXTREMELY hot.

Cheers,
Jeff

Yes, my 95 has the same thing. It seems the bolts have sheered off and now the shield just rests on top of my muffler making lots of sound. Plan on fixing it... dunno how to get those sheered bolts out with the muffler still installed though!?!!?!
