Default low 7'*

How much money do you think would be involved in getting my car down to the low 7'* for 0-60. Remember I have a 2.84 axle and as of now i'm guessing my 0-60 is around 10 sec flat. I like 7 sec cars becaause they climb hills with ease and are confident mergers and they arn't fast enough to get me into trouble with the boy'* in blue. I have a budget of around $1500 set aside for the car.

Shaving 3 seconds off your 0-60 is an enormous feat. It'* going to cost you all that budget, and more I'd bet.

Yeah, 3 seconds is a lot of time to reduce. I've spent about $500 and would be happy if I shaved 1/2 a second of my time.

Try not to set goals based on times, atleast at this point. The gearing won't help, so you'll definetly need more power then someone with a 3.06 gearing to achieve the same goals. the stock PCM has an upper limit too, it becomes a bottle-neck quick. I'd say do lots of complimentary mods. Chip, intake and exhaust, 180 stat unless you have a cool running car.

Best way to reduce time is sell the Olds, spend that money ,and hte $1500 on a */Ced car. $1500 into an L27 will put you at or above an L67, but after that you're running out of options.

If you really want to do something cool. Take half of that money, go find some 93-95 heads. Get bigger valves put in, and modify them to accept a higher ratio Small block chevy rocker. That'll give you a lot. Jeffrey 10x4 did this.

To shave 3 sec for $1500 you need to drop 500 lbs from your car and add nitrous.

$1500 is enough though to build a nice street machine; cai, exhaust, 180 tstat. All are going to give you better performance.
