You can't post a thread and say how nice your car looks with a custom painted intake and not post pics in the Your Ride section.

It took me about 40 minutes to install, and that included me cleaning thorougly the area under the air cleaner box since its never been cleaned. After installing the CAI, I have noticed a significant change in the throttle response of the car. The throttle kinda seemed to lag (SLE model, could be the reason, may not be an issue with the SSEi'*) and this was taken care of with the CAI. After installing the CAI, and driving 50 miles back to school, mixed country and highway driving, very little city driving, with a pretty steady wind, i averaged 33.1 MPG which I'm sure is a little lower then what i would have gotten with warmer weather and less wind!

So all in all, im very pleased with the performance of it, and it looks GREAT after being painted the color of my vehicle. I will try to get pictures up within the next day or so!

Thanks again to younggun and his good work!

Eric

Thanks for the great comments Eric, again I am glad you like it!

Only making them for the 2000+ bonnevilles at this time...if I could get a hold of a some of the older models for a day so I could get a prototype made, then I could work on getting one for those models out for members as well..but that isn't likely

Sorry!

Looking great. My '97 seems to be fine with just the K&N and the even-more-gutted airbox, but I'm watching this thread with baited breath.

Now, does this get in the way of the driver'* side headlight? Were your tests done with the headlight in or out?

It is designed to sit down inside the fender. I am not sure how the older Bonne'* are, but on ours there is loads of room inside the fender. It back behind and below the headlight, so the headlight mounts right back in and does not effect it at all. I had the headlight out to take the pictures obviously so you can see how it sits down inside.

Would love to make one for the earlier cars, just need a car for the day to do the work on...in fact if you could take many detailed pictures under the hood, and with your air box removed that may be a start and I could possibly (and I mean POSSIBLY) try to mock something up while guiding you to what pictures I would need etc.. Problem is, without the car here I cant experiment with angles, lengths, filter sizes, fitment etc... which is what I need to do to make the first one as a pattern.

Don't lie! It blocks the headlight, but thankfully FL doesn't give a crap about that. They do care that I get better gas mileage though!! Yes, this is sarcasm
