LN3 with aftermarket rockers
1990 Reatta 2.97 FDR
3" intakere
removed cat and 2.5" piping
Delco Ignition
GMTUNERS.com Chip
waterpump underdrive pulley
poly dogbone mount
I have been seriously considering the 1.72 roller rockers on seriesoneperformance and look forward to the gains, but is there any other rockers for the LN3/series one.
what gains will I see from these rockers. I am just looking for more info on this modification.
I know a cam would be a great mod but it is much more work and if I do decide to purchase a cam and install it the rockers will be that much greater.

I think we are .250 intake and .255 exahust for the cam... So totall lift with 1.8'* would be...
.450 Intake and .459 Exahust... Hmmm seems interesting to me as well, especially if they work with no issues on the LN3 heads....

I'm not very familar with the S1 but I'm guessing there are quite a few miles on that motor so new springs would be a smart idea while you are there.

can springs be done under the valve cover? if so I will for sure do new valve springs and the 1.8s
fill the cylinders with compressed air to stop the valve from falling into the cylinder.

How many miles are on your engine? If mileage is on the high side, I'd replace then with stockers as long as 1.8'* don't make create coil bind with stockers. IIRC Series 1 springs are 80 lb. seat pressure @ 1.75” and a spring rate of 210 lb. @ 1.315”.
If you are going to change springs I'd also do valve seals since you are already in their.

well the motor has 154,xxx and runs great
you don't think the 135# would be better with bigger duration? will they hurt the motor with the added stiffness?

If stock is 80#* are stock and your going w/ 1.8'* I would try new 90# or 105# springs.
