Default Lets talk about my KR (update 11-28)

Now that i have an income again, i would like to fix this problem. I want atleast 1 track outing this year.

Well my mods are in my sig (most already know them).

The story of my car is in open loop, i get 0 kr and full timing (19 degrees). Once i go into closed loop i get 15 degrees of kr and 0 timing. EVEN ON A FREE REV I GET 15 DEGREES OF TIMING. I have been talking to several companies including ryan at gmtuners. They all believe it is not the pcm, i have also ruled out false kr caused by something i can see visibly in the engine compartment. I have also ruled out fuel pressure. Ryan thinks it is maybe something internal causing the kr. He suggested taking out my knock sensors and cleaning them and putting new thread sealer on them and reinstalling them. Which i will try.

I was wondering if anyone had any ideas. Maybe a lifter, injector, i dunno lol

ur post is kinda confusing. wut do u mean 15 degrees of timing and 0 degrees of timing? the series 2 should be at 15 degrees at WOT. and if u get full timing with no KR then thats a good thing. my car hits 12.5 degrees of timing with 2-3 degrees of KR.

I get the KR on a free rev, or when i go WOT. It peaks right before shift (1-2) and stays there after the shift all the way til i shut it down. Also if i hit it anywhere in 2nd gear i get the KR. BUT sometimes i can hit it from around 55 and not get any KR. It is VERY random. So that is why i think it is something mechanical making the noise.

Previously I thought you said everyone was sure it was the pcm tuning. Now they are sure it isn't the tuning?

You've added more air, changed the cam, etc etc and no one is figuring it'* tuning any longer?

I'm not familiar with your '95 PCM programming...and perhaps this has been offered already...but my off-the cuff guess regarding "no KR when cold / KR when warm" is that the PCM doesn't even start looking for knock until the engine is all warmed up.

Have you checked to make sure your exhaust system is all tight and sound, with nothing clanking/banging/rubbing together?

(BTW, I haven't read everything, but have you tried running a batch of super high-octane to see if the KR is real?)
