I don't have access to a 98 Regal n/a .bin file; but looking at a 98 Grand Prix n/a file, timing advance starts to be pulled at 122 F. On a 98 LeSabre n/a file, timing advance starts to be pulled at 104 F. In my experience, IAT temps on a "stock-ish" intake system can easily be 30 to 40 degrees F higher than ambient if you're idling and heat-soaking...typically not more than 5 to 10 degrees F above ambient while running. Your sig says you have a shielded intake...you should be even less affected.
Unless your testing involved alot of sitting around idling, I doubt the 70 to 84 degree F change made any difference to commanded timing...fuel/air charge density, perhaps.
P.*., on both the GP and LeSabre files, the PCM starts to add timing advance at 50 degrees F.
P.P.*., can you expand on your answer to Bill'* question...at what rpm(*) and gear(*) under WOT does the KR show?

OK wait here, so your mods are:
intake
180 tstat
no ubend/res
plugs
front pem
and ported lower intake
You have stock PCM still, correct? And your car gets up to 4* of KR?
If what im reading here is correct, I dont see the problem? L36s have KR stock, usually lots of it. That is about exactly what I would expect for KR out of that setup.
What do you run for gas? 87 octane or do u run higher?

yes i have the stock pcm and i run 87 octane for normal driving .at the track i stop at the gaz station and add 10$ of 93 octane and bump my air pressure for the back tires .But i think the hot and humid air is what the major problem i will see if the ER rockers helps
and yes those 70 and 84 temp reading are IAT [/quote]
