Default L36 whit KR

ok after doing my intake and exhaust mod i was about sure to have very low or almost no KR . but i still see some peek to 4 degrees at time not always ,Also what buging me is my track performance after my ported intake swap im getting faster 60 foot 2.23 (before 2.31) and better MPH 91 (before 89 to 90 )so how can i be faster at the 60 foot get more MPH and turn slower time .the only thing i see its that im pulling KR somewhere in between . i like to have youre idea

Hey wait, you're not falling for "TM shows as KR," are you?

TM (torque management) shows as reduced timing. Knock (or false knock) shows as KR (and reduced timing). Simple as that. And nobody over at the PowrTuner forum has been able to produce convincing evidence otherwise.

If you're scanning KR, you really do have knock (most likely caused by leanness due to your mods), and/or you are producing false knock due to something banging around on the engine and/or other common 3800 tuning issues (torque converter lock/unlock, etc.)

Most likely, you have some false knock, and alot of real knock...both of which came straight from the factory, and both of which were exacerbated when you modded

There'* an extremely good chance you're seeing exacerbated TM at launch and at shifts, as well :P

If you're getting better 60' times, you've clearly improved low-end torque (or your launch technique). If you're trapping higher 1/4 mile speed, you've clearly improved high-end. But if you're 1/4 mile times are down, something'* causing you to lose momentum mid-way down the track...KR and TM will do that. I'd also be willing to bet with your stock shift points that you're now shifting into 3rd gear just before the 1/4 mile mark, costing you a little time.

Higher octane fuel will help with the KR, but not false KR or TM. Sounds to me like you need to start thinking about a PCM (or, far better, a Tuner).

I have been told by 2 out of the 3 major parts dealers for our cars that 1 degree of timing (up to 27) is good for 2-3WHP (in the higher rpms).

i get up to 25.5 degrees at WOT but if i loose 5 from TM is at the same as a 95

I'd also be willing to bet with your stock shift points that you're now shifting into 3rd gear just before the 1/4 mile mark, costing you a little time

no im still going true the traps in second gear at 5900 rpm .did it once **** in 3rd gear

also at what IAT temp does the PCM start taking timing off .on my 15.52 pass my IAT was at 70 degrees that evening .both testing after that it was a hotter day and my IAT was at 84 degrees in full sun
