If you can hear knock with an L67 you have problems. The L67 has knock sensors in it and when they "hear" knock the computer responds by immediately pulling timing to get rid of the knock. It does this so fast you should NEVER EVER hear knock, if you do you have bigger problems. But when you hear knock you will know what it is, I don't know how to explain itbut it kinda sounds like popping or something, its very hard to explain. Anyways, if you are hearing knock in your SSEi like I said you have some pretty big problems.

I have never heard knock in my 1994 ssei. I know that i does have knock sensors so im assuming that if there is about to be knock the computer automatically retards the timing just like in the L67. That is good to know just incase something ever does go wrong.

The engine in your SSEi is an L67, just a series I L67 instead of a series II. Just thought I would inform you there.

I didn't know it was an L67 for a while. It doesn't make any sense for it to be, GM is stupid. They changed the N/A engine code from the series I L27 to the series II L36, but the L67 stayed the same. For the series III the L67 is now something else (something like L34 or something) and the L36 is now L26 or something. GM has a weird way of doing things.
