Default K&N air filter for my '98 Bonneville SE...worth the cash

right now im using an ACdelco airfilter and im thinking about getting a k&n air filter.

1. is it worth the money?

2. will it improve my gas milage and accelleration?

3. will i be able to use it with stock exhaust? ( i heard it good to have a better exhasut system...?? ) the reason im asking is becasue i dont want to spend alot of money on anything.

4. will it cause any problems

please help me out, becasue i honestly have no clue about these things so cut me some slack haha

First off welcome to the Club!

If you gutt your airbox it'* more then worth it, I did it for my friends 97 Se and he loved the extra little pep not to mention the added noise from the intake @ WOT.

Please enter your year and trim into your signature.

I would say yes but I'm biased If you get one, order at www.ajusa.com - free shipping and lowest prices around.

2. will it improve my gas milage and accelleration?

Yes to both, but it may be hard to keep your foot off the gas

3. will i be able to use it with stock exhaust? ( i heard it good to have a better exhasut system...?? ) the reason im asking is becasue i dont want to spend alot of money on anything.

At this point the stock exhaust will be plenty sufficient.

4. will it cause any problems

Not that I can think of anyway! Go for it. It'* a fun little project!
Check out this link for some good pictures:

Cut away this part too (it'* facing the opening behind the headlight when it'* on your car).

i might go to an auto junk yard to find an old air box for cheap to work on. this way if i make a mistake, or if i dont like it, it wont be a big deal.

Sorry for the confusion I was referring to a drop in filter myself... Just search for Gutted air box or gut air box or something similar and look through some posts after a few minutes of research you should feel confident enough about how to do it cause it'* pretty straight forward. Have fun and let us know how it goes!

LMK if you want a pregutted airbox. I've got one laying around that'll go cheap.
