think about all the $$$ they put into that. If it was a vette that they started with think about how much faster it would be.
Ummm...If it were a Vette they started with they would've had to pay another $25k for it to begin with, so it wouldn't be any quicker because they had to dump all the money into buying the car, not just the engine. And...I don't believe we are talking about who can go the fastest for cheapest, because OBVIOUSLY there are much cheaper ways of going fast than in a FWD V6, so obviously there are MUCH cheaper ways to run that fast, the Corvette not even close to being the cheapest. The point is, the car even with the mods is cheaper than a new Z06, and is around 1 full second quicker in the 1/4 mile. Besides, not all Corvettes are ZO6'*. Very very few of them are, what are the chances this guy is going to run into one. Most Corvettes run 14'* or SLOWER, with just the past few model years being quicker. So seeing that that GTP runs 11'*, no matter what it cost, IT IS STILL A CORVETTE KILLER. And the fastest I have ever seen a ZO6 run is 12.73, and IIRC he had some sort of air intake and exhaust on it too.

'vette+blower=invincible
OK, you go buy your ZO6, put a blower on it, and go to the Racetrack, I can garuntee you will get blown away by PLENTY of things. A Z06 is still only 346c.i. with a blower. There can still be some guy with a 502 or 572 with a blower, and guess what, he has almost twice the displacement, do you think your Z06 is gonna keep up...I THINK NOT. So vette+blower=quick, but not even close to invincible.

Yeah you will scare the bejeezus outta them, and anyone in hearing distance of this beast (abuot 1 mile).

I think a corvette z06 is a great car, and it'* great at the track. It does weight less then many 502 etc powered v8 monsters but meh....

Fact is, you can drive down the street knowing your driving a Grand Prix GTP that runs on average almost 3 seconds faster in the 1/4 than stock.

There is NO feeling like that.

3 sec. is like 6 car lengths. It does feel good though when you come up to a stcker and he wants to race you, & you kick his *** all they way down the 1/4?

3 seconds in the 1/4 is a spanking

I would surely never want my rear end to be handed to me like that, id probably

i do have a question though:
i used my G TECH pro comp on the first 2 runs as a data recorder.
my times were very very close to what i ran on the track{ 60' was withing 3-5 thousands and 1/4 time was within2 hundredths}
i know i was running into fuel starvation and KR due to running lean, my torque showed 462 lb/ft on the first and 467lb/ft on the second. all in by 1850 rpms. and the HP was low, 180 and 183 at 4300. would the slicks make that much difference in the torque readings due to a harder launch?
On the GTECH it would since the GTECH uses the feeling of the pull of the car to determine torque, and use that to calculate HP
