I'm holding out for the zzp 2nd gen intercooler. hey dbkt2, didn't you say before that there are 2 options with the zzp ic? one being the machined intake manifold matched to the IC shape and can't remember what you said the second option was. Each was an extra $100, I believe.

Might get the IC installed when rockers go in.
Yes the ported intake manifold (which you definately want) costs and extra $100, and the stage 2 radiator and pump cost and extra $100, which you also probably want. The stage 2 radiator is over twice the size of the normal one, and the pump flows faster, so you should get better cooling and the water should recirculate faster. This will give you a total cost of $1199 for the whole job. Very good deal IMHO.

I agree completely with everything posted by dbtk2 on this subject. The ZZP intercooler is a GREAT value if you want to get serious! We've installed them on more than a dozen cars, and the feedback is excellent.

Maybe you should do some better research. Thrasher has had an intercooler available for these cars since before ZZP was even around. The price is ~$2400 for that one, and it isn't any better than the ZZP. It is available at 3800performance.com IIRC. There is also another IC being released shortly (like within the next month), and ZZP will also be releasing their Generation 2 IC shortly. A few custom Intercoolers have also been made that have worked well also.
lol

Yes the thrasher unit is also good but the zzp unit is basically the same idea with a different "better" way of applying the system. Basically a screen between the sc outlet and the opening. The optimization of the screen will be good to see. Yes also a larger rad is a must with an intercooler or not.
