Default Intake Question

I was wondering how much of a differnece would there be between my gutted airbox and drop in k&n filter and i "rice pipe" and k&n cone. Would it be worth the upgrade, or no. Just give me some input. thank you

OMG by all means do the rice pipe, there is a noticible difference between the stock and the pipe

it will not be as effective as a intake with an heatshield, but better than the stock box. the key is that the pipe has a smoother air flow than the stock

Even with the heat, you will still gain some power. You don't need to worry too much about KR since your not supercharged, so you can live without one. But if you make a custom heat shield, you can only gain more power.

Yea dude get that and also at Pep Boys there is this kit which is a tube that you attach to the top of the cone with an additional connect and it allows you to make a "ram air" setup. I just saw it yesterday and want it bad but I dont know how much it is. That small connect was $9 alone so Im assuming this tube would be $20 at the least. The top of your cone has to be inverted though in order to do this. You should also get some sort of a heatshield built around it to be most effective.

EDIT: I swear the two words "connect" were supposed to be "connector" and I know I spelled it right!!!

I only noticed a loss of power due to heat soak when the car was either stopped in traffic or barely moving. If you do a lot of stop and go you might want to keep the airbox or make yourself some sort of heat shield.

no i live out in the country. I go into the city every now and again but not enough stop and go to worry about. I am ordering my stuff tomorrow and hopefully will have it here and all put in but the end of the month. Then high flow cat and the 1.9'*. Wha kind of gains has everyone got with their 1.9'*. Is it worth the money it is going to cost?
