theres a company called 3ac racing ("rice" company) sells different lengths of straight, and angled alum pipe in varying diameters. They sell it as intercooler piping . I dunno where you would find it in the states.. but in canada we can custom order from Canadian Tire, so I would guess Pepboys or Autozone can get ahold of it.

Just be aware of the moving pipe effect while under accelleration:

No broken motor mount, and DrJay'* car does the same thing. (I'm in drive, brake set, foot on the brake, rev to 4000).

Your pipe may not move this much, but it will move. Take that into consideration in your design.

actually, i have a vid of mine flexing. it'* quite comical, really. I'll set it up so my amount of flex won't kill it, but my engine has next to zero flex in it. but i'll still give it plenty of wiggle room, just in case i suddenly get an eaton

p.*. i keep a copy of that vid on my hard drive and occasionally watch it, just because... how sad is that??

I don't make a habit of that.

I did it to prove a point. Even if the engine doesn't move much, that intake and filter WAY out on the end moves more. Leverage is a funny thing.

I have a copy of that vid on my desktop. I use it to wake up my co-workers when they fall asleep at their desks

FYI after you got it bent to your desired amount and test fittin work.. before you run around with your new intake.. coat a few times the inside of the pipe with some rust resistant heat paint. ( engine block paint? ) This will prevent rusting inside your tubing.. and you don't want dust particles or worse chunks to fly into your TB and thru the engine. I doubt you will be inspecing the interior of the pipeing every month or want to for that matter..

And Drifter brings up a good point. You don't want rust flakes, and you don't want paint flakes. Prep it and do it right.

anyway, that'* a really good point about coating the insides. never thought much about that... if you didn't coat it, there wouldn't be much point in having a filter on there at all, would there?

good call. might be time to look for a stainless steel exhaust extension : ) (or suck it up and go aluminum)

not too sure how well i'd be able to coat the insides of it, unless it was something I dipped the whole assembly into.

Motorcycle shops also sell a similiar thing, where it is supposed to be heat resistant also.
